Privacy Policy

House of Skin is an advanced skin & laser studio located at 5845 Chemin de la Côte-des-Neiges, Suite 475, Montréal, Québec H3S 1Z4. In this policy, “we” and “House of Skin” refer to the studio.

• Contact details: first and last name, phone number, email address.
• Booking details: chosen treatment, date and time, appointment history.
• Health and skin information shared during your consultation or on your intake and consent forms (for example: medical conditions, medications, allergies, pregnancy or breastfeeding, recent cosmetic procedures, skin type). This information is considered sensitive.
• Treatment photos (including before/after photos), only with your consent.
• Payment information, processed by our booking and payment provider. We do not store your full card number.
• Messages you send us by email, phone, contact form or Instagram.
• Basic technical data when you visit the website (see “Cookies”).

• To book, confirm, remind you of and manage your appointments.
• To assess whether a treatment is appropriate for you and perform it safely.
• To keep a record of your treatments and follow your progress.
• To answer your questions and provide aftercare instructions.
• To process payments, deposits and cancellation fees.
• To meet our legal and accounting obligations.

We only collect what is necessary for these purposes.

We collect and use your information with your consent. Sensitive information (health information and treatment photos) is only collected with your express consent. Before/after photos are never shared publicly — on our website or social media — without your separate, written consent. You may withdraw your consent at any time by contacting us, subject to our legal obligations.

We never sell your personal information. We only share it with service providers who help us run the studio, and only as needed:

• Our online booking and payment platform (Fresha), to manage appointments and payments.
• Our website host and email provider.
• Google Maps: the map in the “Visit House of Skin” section is provided by Google and loads when you reach that part of the page. Google then receives your IP address, as it does if you use “Get directions”.

Some of these providers may store information outside Québec. Before doing so, we make sure the information receives adequate protection.

We may also disclose information where required by law.

Our website may use essential cookies needed for it to work. It also saves your language choice (English or French) in your browser so the site opens in that language on your next visit; this information stays on your device. We do not use any analytics or advertising tools. If we add any (such as Google Analytics or the Meta pixel), they will be turned off by default and only activated with your consent. Embedded content (Google Maps) and the sites we link to (Instagram, Fresha booking pages) are governed by those companies’ own privacy policies.

Your information is accessible only to authorized House of Skin staff who need it to provide your care. Paper forms are kept in a locked space; digital records are protected by passwords and secure platforms. In the event of a confidentiality incident that presents a risk of serious injury, we will notify you and the Commission d’accès à l’information as required by law.

We keep your client file for as long as you are a client and for a reasonable period afterward to meet our legal, accounting and safety obligations. When information is no longer needed, it is securely destroyed or anonymized.

You have the right to:

• access the personal information we hold about you;
• ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete information;
• withdraw your consent;
• ask us to stop sharing your information or to delete it, when permitted by law;
• file a complaint with the Commission d’accès à l’information du Québec.

Our services are intended for adults. For clients under 14, we require the consent of a parent or guardian.

We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version will always be available on this page, with its date of update.
